PathWays PA offers adult basic literacy and GED preparation classes in Delaware County (Holmes, PA). PathWays PA offers contextualized adult literacy education that helps participants gain the skills necessary to prepare for the GED tests and succeed in the workforce including reading, understanding and following written instructions; reading and abiding by warning signs; reading emails, memos, and other forms of communication from supervisors; and communicating with supervisors and coworkers in writing. Participants also learn practical math that will be used in the workforce, including arithmetic, adding and subtracting decimals, and fractions. Classes are only available in Delaware County. PathWays PA’s healthcare industry trainings are for low-wage workers in the healthcare industry. PathWays PA provides a variety of certifications to help low-income workers build the skills necessary to advance in the workforce and earn wage increases. The HeroesPath program brings together partners across the public and private sectors to help Veterans access supportive services, public benefits, educational opportunities, job training, and assistance applying for employment opportunities. Building upon more than 10 years of experience engaging employers, PathWays PA works with employers to identify their hiring and skills needs, and works with educational and workforce development partners to help Veterans access the training and skills employers will hire. PathWays PA also ensures that Veterans have the requisite literacy, math, and computer skills to succeed in these trainings and employment opportunities. Through Financial Path$ PathWays PA offers financial education and coaching to help parents and caregivers achieve financial stability and financial independence. Financial Path$ offers financial education workshops and individual counseling sessions that help participants increase their financial resources through strategies that improve credit, build savings, decrease debt, and achieve short and long-term financial goals.
PathWays PA offers clients access to Individual Development Accounts (IDA). IDAs offer qualified participants matched savings accounts. By making regular contributions to an IDA savings account, participants establish a pattern of regular savings and can earn a 4:1 match for qualified post-secondary educational programs.
PathWays PA connects individuals and families to SNAP and other benefits and work supports. PathWays PA provides benefits application assistance to link individuals and families in accessing work supports that will assist participants in building financial assets to stabilize their lives and meet their long-term financial goals.
